Hey, I’m Adela!

I’m a clinical mental health counselor offering evidenced-based in-person services at my cozy office in Denver, Colorado and virtual services throughout Colorado. I work collaboratively with teenagers, adults, self-identified “people-pleasers”, and those new to therapy, experiencing anxiety, unresolved trauma, grief, or identity confusion. Many of my clients carry quiet, unseen wounds. They feel “stuck,” overwhelmed by life’s demands, or unsure of their worth, finding themselves repeating patterns they can’t quite name or shift. My style is warm, calm, and curious—with gentle assertiveness when it's helpful. My role is to create a space where you feel safe to explore who you are, who you’ve been, and who you want to become. All parts of you are welcome here.

I believe much of our struggle comes from the ways we’ve learned to survive, often in response to early experiences, societal expectations, or past trauma. We’ll explore how past experiences have shaped your beliefs, behaviors, and emotional patterns. We'll work towards healing old and new wounds, while focusing on cultivating supportive ways to relate to yourself and managing the hard emotions—so you can move through life with more clarity, security, and self-compassion.

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, creating a safe, affirming space where you can explore your identity, relationships, and life transitions. Whether you’re navigating coming out, understanding your gender identity, or dealing with societal pressures, I’m here to support you in embracing who you are without shame or judgment. Paying special attention to systemic and multicultural perspectives, I am committed to honoring and validating individuals with various ethnic, racial, religious, spiritual, gender, and sexual identities.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I draw from EMDR, ACT, and existential and narrative approaches. My work is also influenced by my background in art, writing, and mindfulness, which brings a creative and grounded energy into the therapy space.

Currently accepting new clients. Please reach out for a free consultation if this sounds like a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
