Hey, I’m Adela!

I’m a clinical mental health counselor, and I work collaboratively with teenagers and adults experiencing anxiety, PTSD, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and identity confusion. You might describe yourself as “too much.” Too emotional. Too anxious. Maybe you find yourself constantly people-pleasing, or struggling to set boundaries. You might feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, live with ADHD, carry old wounds, or find that you’re your own toughest critic. If that resonates, you’re in the right place.

I work best with caring, creative souls who feel deeply and think a lot. The ones who long to live more authentically but feel disconnected from who they truly are. So much of our struggle comes from the ways we’ve learned to survive, often in response to early experiences, societal expectations, or past trauma. Our work together will be about unlearning what’s no longer serving you, building new coping skills, and moving toward a more authentic way of being. This is a journey of healing, one where we’ll reframe your story and reclaim your sense of agency.

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, creating a safe, affirming space where you can explore your identity, relationships, and life transitions. Whether you’re navigating coming out, understanding your gender identity, or dealing with societal pressures, I’m here to support you in embracing who you are without shame or judgment. Paying special attention to systemic and multicultural perspectives, I am committed to honoring and validating individuals with various ethnic, racial, religious, spiritual, gender, and sexual identities.

My approach is deeply influenced by my love for art, writing, and creative expression. Whether we’re using journaling, creative exercises, or finding innovative strategies to meet your goals, I tailor each session to your unique needs and interests. We’ll move at your pace, practicing vulnerability in a way that feels safe and empowering.

In a world that often tells us who we “should” be, our work will focus on discovering who you truly are and what matters most to you. Together, we’ll explore what you really want from life and work toward those goals using evidence-based therapies like EMDR, mindfulness, and narrative and existential frameworks. My aim is to help you expand your emotional toolkit, build resilience, work through old wounds, and reconnect with the person you want to be. And yes, we might even have a little fun along the way. Please reach out for a free consultation if this sounds like a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
